The new vocal ensemble Chineke! Voices present the astonishingly rich and imaginative music of Portuguese composer Vicente Lusitano alongside fellow composers from the period. Lusitano was the first black composer to be published in Europe and a key musical figure of the times. Lusitano’s music survives in manuscript, and has been researched and edited for this performance by Joseph McHardy.
