Black Reflections: Contributions of Black Artists

This Thursday 10th September 10pm BST (UK time) Chineke! Founder Chichi Nwanoku OBE will host the first panel discussion of the series called Black Reflections: Contributions of Black Artists.

Black Reflections is a three-part panel discussion series on Black artistry in concert music hosted by Oberlin Conservatory and the New World Symphony. Conversations will cover the historical and social context of Black musicians' participation in concert music, the personal experiences of Black musicians, and reimaging a just and equitable future for Black artists in concert music. Panelists include Black artists, activists, scholars, and executives in classical music and jazz.
Guests panelists include pianist Aaron Diehl, professor and entrepreneur Aaron Dworkin, and musicologists Dr. Fredara Mareva Hadley and Dr. Tammy Kernodle. This online event is free and open to the public, so please feel free to sign up!
